Tributes have poured in for dual-code rugby worldwide Va’aiga Tuigamala, most famously often called Inga the Winger, who has died on the age of 52.
Tuigamala, who performed for the All Blacks and likewise represented Samoa in each codes, was a member of the all-conquering Wigan crew of the early Nineteen Nineties and his former membership mentioned on Twitter: “This morning, Wigan Warriors are deeply saddened to be taught of the tragic information that former participant Va’aiga (Inga) Tuigamala has handed away.
“Wigan Warriors ship their deepest condolences to the household and associates at this terrible time.”
Tuigamala performed provincially for Auckland earlier than switching codes by signing for Wigan in January 1994.
He received two Problem Cup winners’ medals, two Regal ‘Trophy winners’, medals and a Premiership winners medal in his three seasons with Wigan and likewise helped the membership beat Brisbane Broncos within the World Membership Problem.

Tuigamala grew to become a funeral director after retiring from rugby, prompted by the loss of life of 10 of his associates in 2003. He ran a funeral firm, Tuigamala & Sons, in West Auckland and organised the funeral of the late king of Tonga, Taufa’ahau Tupou IV.
