Christian Hammer, a former opponent of Tyson Fury, is about to combat on the undercard of the WBC heavyweight champion’s title defence towards Dillian Whyte subsequent month.
Fury will put the belt and his unbeaten report on the road agianst his fellow Briton at a sold-out Wembley Stadium on 23 April, with Hammer resulting from tackle Jared Anderson within the lead-up to that main-event contest.
Fury fought Hammer (26-9, 16 knockouts) at London’s O2 Area in 2015, with the German retiring from the bout within the eighth spherical.
Hammer, 34, will return to the English capital for his conflict with American Anderson, who’s unbeaten at 11-0 and has secured all of his wins through knockout.
Anderson, 22, will reportedly spar with Fury within the coming weeks, and the pair’s promoter Bob Arum instructed Thai Boxing Voice on YouTube: “He’s preventing Christian Hammer. It’s an enormous step-up for Jared.
“He leaves this weekend to go to England to spar Tyson; Tyson says there’s no person like him for sparring.
“Yeah, we have a look at Jared with none query as a future heavyweight champion.”
Anderson final fought in November, stopping Oleksandr Teslenko within the second spherical at Madison Sq. Backyard in New York Metropolis.
Hammer, in the meantime, enters his bout with Anderson on the again of two straight defeats, having been outpointed by Frank Sanchez in January and having retired towards Fury’s cousin Hughie in October.
