A small airplane has been destroyed and the pilot injured after crashing right into a block of flats in Oxfordshire, emergency companies have stated.
Oxfordshire Fireplace and Rescue Service stated it arrived on the scene of the collision in Higher Heyford, close to Bicester, at round 12.18pm on Saturday.
The service shared a dramatic {photograph} of the crumpled plane beside the broken exterior wall of a property, which Thames Valley Police (TVP) stated was an empty block of flats close to Camp Highway.
A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fireplace and Rescue Service stated one individual was taken to hospital following the crash, which TVP recognized because the pilot.
The hearth service stated: “At 12.18 right this moment crews from Bicester, Deddington and Banbury supported by our specialist rescue tender crew from Kidlington hearth station and water provider from Wheatley attended to help our colleagues from Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Basis Belief with a lightweight plane crash at Higher Heyford.
“Crews labored intently with our colleagues from different businesses to carry the incident to a secure conclusion with one individual being taken to hospital.”

A spokesperson stated: “The plane crashed into an unoccupied block of flats close to Camp Highway in Higher Heyford at about noon,
“The pilot is in hospital however no-one else was injured.

The Air Accidents Investigation Department (AAIB) stated it has launched an investigation and inspectors have begun searches on the scene.
The department stated: “An accident in Higher Heyford, Oxfordshire, involving a lightweight plane has been notified to the AAIB.
“An investigation has been launched into the accident and a staff of inspectors are on the accident web site gathering proof.”
